TOUR DESCRIPTION:

We offer a full day tour, which not only includes a boat trip to see the dolphins, but also includes a bicycle ride around Koh Trong (island), a visit to Kampi rapids, and an up close view of how Kratie’s famous sticky rice is made.

The trip starts at 8am with breakfast at Sorya café, along with a pre-tour briefing, before heading off on a 16km tuk-tuk drive, following the Mekong river north.

Along the way we will stop at Thmor Kre village, where local villagers make a traditional sticky rice snack … Kratie’s sticky rice is well known by Khmer from all over the country.

From there we will continue north to see the Kampi rapids, which are located in an extremely scenic part of the Mekong River.

After the viewing the rapids, your guide will organise a boat to take you out onto the river to see the endangered Irrawaddy dolphins, and while out there, he will talk to you about the dolphins, the local area, and life in Cambodia.

Lunch back at Sorya café will follow, then a final check on the bikes, before pedalling to the ferry port and heading over to Koh Trong, where a leisurely pedal around the island will give you an opportunity explore the sights and witness the island lifestyle.

Sights during the cycle ride also include a view out to a Vietnamese floating village and bats high up in the trees.

It will then be back on the ferry, before a short pedal back to Sorya.

This full day tour (starts at 8am, returns at around 4pm) offers a unique Kratie experience, as it not only includes a visit to the dolphins, but also a close up look at local village life.
